NEWS LETTER

Breeds of dog included in the UK’s and Spain’s Dangerous Dogs Act

Pit Bull Terrier. Dogo Argentino. Fila Braziliero. Japanese Tosa. American Pit Bull Terrier. American Staffordshire Bull Terrier. English Bull Terrier. Bullmastiff. Dobermann Pincher. Dogo de Burdeos. Mastin Napolitano. Presa Canario. Presa Mallorquin. Paster Alaman. Rottweiler. Japanese Inu. Japanese Akedo.

APAC will NOT rescue or re-home any of the breed of dogs on this list. It is the Committees decision and opinion that it would be irresponsible on our part to do so.

If you should be troubled by any of these breeds contact your local
Guardia Civil or SEPRONA which is the animal division of the GC on
96.561.0142. or 96.521.6611.

Our shop is open  6 days each week 10.00 – 14.00 Monday – Saturday.

Our favourite side of the 'A' frame outside shows most (but not all) of the dogs that we have re-homed in the past two years.
Although 99% have been re-homed in Spain we have found homes for some in
Germany, Italy and England.

The other side of our ‘A’ frame is one that we all wish that we didn’t have………
This is the side displays the dogs that we are still trying to re-home.

From 1 January to 31 December 2007 APAC rescued 47 dogs. Two were found with bad injuries (broken legs) 36 have been re-homed. Some re-homed in other European countries. Unfortunately three had to be destroyed because of illness and one because of being on the Spanish Dangerous Dogs list.

The total veterinary cost for, operations, sterilization, castration, vaccination, micro chipping, kennelling, fostering and transporting dogs abroad, came to €33,808.

Special thanks must go to Eve for all her hard work and dealing with the dogs at Monegre, also to Jeff, Colin and Ian for volunteering for emergency callouts throughout the year.

APAC also rescued 277 cats. 12 had to be destroyed. The total veterinary costs for, operations, sterilization, castration, vaccination came to €9,102.
Special thanks must go to Janice for rescuing so many cats.

Although most of our money comes from the shop throughout the year we raised money at the following events.
4 Rastros €2,130. Frances Whites BBQ €2,470. Our Dutch Friends €1,045.
Janice’s Cats Dinner €520. Marcel’s swim €560. Ray French carboot sale €750.
Total €7,475.

Special thanks to all those who helped raise this €7,475.
