AUGUST

Monday 4^th August           BBQ – Main course and sweet. 7 euros for members, 8 euros for guests. Drinks to be bought from the bar. 6.45pm. As there are so many people away at this time of the year, it has been decided to relax the limit on the number of guests allowed to attend on this occasion.

Saturday 16^th August        Benidorm Palace. CANCELLED. This may be rescheduled to later in the year.

Roasted Garlic Chicken in Sauce, Sausage & Herb Plait with Mustard, Warm Crab Claws with Lemon Mayonnaise, Tuna Fish & Pasta Bake, Fried Brie with Fruit Sauce, Pork Chops with Cider & Apples, Mixed Dressed Salad, Couscous Salad with Mint, New Potatoes with Butter & Parsley, Bread, Selection of Desserts, Coffee. Price : 14 euros per member, 16 euros per guest. As this is a buffet, no seats can be reserved. Early start : 7.00pm

Tuesday 16^th September    Line Dance Social. 7.00 for 7.30pm. Please bring a plate of food.

Friday 19^th September       Bingo Night. 7.30 for 8.00pm.

Sunday 21^st September     Sunday Lunch. Honey Mustard Chicken Salad, or Carrot & Coriander Soup. Roast Beef or Beef Fillets served in Red Wine Sauce. ½ bottle of Wine and Coffee. Price : 13 euros for members, 15 euros for non-members. 2.45pm

Friday 26^th September       Quiz Night, 7.30 for 8.00pm, Please bring a plate of food

Thursday 2^nd – Wednesday 8^th October.

                                       Coach tour to Extramadura. The price will depend on numbers. If we have 30 people it will be 600 euros each, but if we have 40 people the price will be 550 euros each. A deposit of 150 euros must be paid when you book. Please let Yvonne know as soon as possible.

Saturday 25^th October      Social Fun Night. Braised Meatballs in Spicy Tomato Sauce, Saffron Rice, Sliced Ham & Beef, Smoked Salmon Parcels filled with Cream Cheese & Prawns, Sausage Rolls flavoured with Lemon & Herbs, Quiche Lorraine, Broccoli & Mushroom Quiche, Mixed Salad Leaves with Tomatoes & Fresh Fruit, Homemade Coleslaw, Buttered New Potatoes, Fresh Bread Roll, Bread & Butter Pudding, Raspberry Pavlova, Coffee or Tea with Cherry Shortbread. Price 8 euros for members, 10 euros for non members. Early start : 7.00pm

Monday 8^th December       Gala Dinner Dance – information to follow.

Thursday 25^th December  Christmas Lunch. Closing date for numbers will be Sunday 28^th September. Depending on the number of members that show an interest, the Committee will then decide if this event will take place.

Christmas Trip to Mojacar – Booking now. Deposits due October. Further information on this trip is available from the office.

PLEASE BRING YOUR TICKETS WITH YOU TO ALL MEALS AS THEY MAY BE COLLECTED AT THE DOOR. 

For all in-house Club meals, please book with the Booking Clerk seated outside the office door.

All external events and coach tours please book with Yvonne or Helen.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BOOKING DESKS CLOSE AT 1.30pm.

WOULD MEMBERS PLEASE REMEMBER THAT ALL GUESTS MUST BE SIGNED-IN IN THE VISITORS BOOK WHEN ATTENDING ANY FUNCTIONS, EVENTS (or even having just a social drink) IN THE CLUB PREMISES. Please also remember guests are charged 1 euro each per visit, which should be put in the tray by the visitor’s book.

The club has a new telephone number as well as new methods of contact.  Please make a note for future reference.

 The Secretary will be monitoring the email on at least a DAILY basis, but please allow 48 hours for reply.

WIFI access to the internet (using your own laptop etc) is now available in the club at all times the club is open. This means that you can now browse the internet, book flights, use email, make FREE voice calls to anywhere in the world and do many other things. If you wish to use this service, please see our IT Manager, Richard Hill, or call him on 636571105. You can also leave your details with the secretary, Helen Hill. This is a secure system and you will need to register before using it.

The Computer Group will resume in September and will meet every Wednesday. This change of day is by request to allow more members to attend. If you wish to join at any time as a beginner or more advanced user, the course has been designed to be completely flexible. Ideally bringing a wireless enabled laptop to the meetings makes life easier for you but it is not mandatory and you are more than welcome without one.

Richard will be available most Sundays in the Clubhouse to assist with any queries or problems you may have with your computers.

Don’t forget, we now have a ‘Lost & Found’ Box in the office.

SUGGESTION BOOK :

Please remember if you have any suggestions for trips, events or ideas for the development and improvement of the club, put them in the Suggestion Book – this is on the table by the Visitors Book

POLITE REMINDERS

1:  Would everybody please remember to return their glasses, empty cans and crisp packets to the bar each time you buy a drink. This would be of great help to the bar staff. It would also be appreciated if you could put back any tables and chairs that you have moved before you leave. Thank you.

2:  Anybody wishing to borrow books from the Club library is more than welcome to do so. PLEASE make sure you sign the book out AND pay your 20 cents rental. This request also applies to the Video / DVD library where the fee is 1 euro. Thank you

3:  If any member has a complaint or comment about Club meals and functions, please put it in writing to the Club Secretary or President. Unless you tell us if you have a grievance or problem, we can’t help you.

4:  Members are reminded that only drinks purchased from the bar may be consumed on the Club premises.
